THE RICE DEVELOPMENT TRUST PLATFORM

The Rice Development Trust  (RDT) Platform is coordinating body in the rice value chain in Malawi. It is aimed at enhancing collaboration among different stakeholders in the rice sector with the view to consolidate various efforts so as to advance and promote the development of a competitive rice value chain in Malawi. The RDT comprises of all key stakeholders along the rice value chain ranging from farmers, farmer organizations, input suppliers, processors, financial institutions, non-governmental organizations and key government institutions.

The overall objective of the trust is to advance and promote the development of a competitive rice value chain in Malawi. Membership to the Trust is restricted to all actors involved in Malawi’s rice value chain. The registered office of the Trust, is situated at the African Institute of Corporate Citizenship (AICC), Area 47, Sector 5, Bwanje Street, Lilongwe.
